Our client The East African Business Council (EABC) is the apex body of business associations of the Private Sector and Corporates from the 5 East African Countries. It was established in 1997 to foster the interests of the Private Sector in the integration process of the East African Community (EAC). Originally comprising members from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, its membership was expanded after 2007 to include private sector from Burundi and Rwanda. EABC is in the process of strengthening the secretariat to become an effective change agent for fostering an enabling business environment and promoting EAC private sector's regional and global competitiveness in trade and investment. It is against this background that EABC is now seeking to recruit result oriented individuals with drive, vision and creativity to manage the secretariat in the following capacity: 
Key responsibilities
•Providing leadership in developing and implementing the EABC 
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of Bachelors' degree in Economics, Law, Business Administration, International Trade/Relations, or related field. Those with a master's degree and above will have an added advantage. At least ten (10) years of progressively strong operational experience in both the private and public sectors at with 5 of them in senior management. Demonstrated ability to build strong networks with advocacy partners, donor community and policy makers, and background in trade and regional integration issues, especially in the EAC integration and the private sector priorities in the EAC is essential.

Executive Director - ED/06/2015

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for EABC's staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.
•Strategic Plan, including developing annual work plans and their budgets and monitoring and evaluating their implementation. 
•Coordination with EAC Secretariat, and participation in all relevant EAC Policy Organs;
 •Spearheading fund raising, resource mobilization and business development leadership; 
•Leading and managing the EABC Secretariat, ensuring efficient and effective programmatic, financial, administrative and communications management and motivating a team of 15 members of staff; •Overseeing the development and implementation of policy advocacy strategies on key issues affecting the EAC business community; and 
•Building strong relationships with the donor community and institutionalize a sustainability plan within EABC.
