The CompanyOur client Kijenge Animal Farm is a diverse agro processing company currently based in Arusha, Tanzania. The company is engaged in maize milling; animal feed milling and poultry (broiler) production and processing. The company is in the process of installing new equipment both for existing lines of business and new related operations. The company’s strategy is to increase its revenues and profits by efficiently utilizing the new installed capacity while employing best practice in all its operations. They therefore wish to employ a Senior Finance Manager. The Senior Finance Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.
Job purpose:
The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for implementing the finance policies of the company, financial processing and monitoring the budget on a day-today basis. The Senior Finance Manager will be expected to contribute to the development and execution of the company’s growth strategy, advising on the most prudent mechanisms for fiduciary management company, ensuring that there are proper financial and accounting controls, and identifying investment considerations that will ensure that the value of the company’s assets is protected.
Roles & Responsibilities• Advising the Directors, CEO and Board of Directors on the financial implications, of business/project activities
• Responsibility for understanding the strategic direction of the Company, providing high level, proactive financial expertise and leadership to the company as a whole and direction for both short term and long term financial planning
• Leading the design and implementation of the structure of financial resources and all financial operations of the company
• Developing a strategic proposal for Asset Management
• Actively managing company cash flow and on a daily basis and generate relevant cash flow projections and forecasting
• Managing cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting
• Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and project budgets and actual expenditures
• Participating in the Operational Review meetings and represent the finance division in those meetings
• Collaboratively developing operating policies and procedures, improvement programs and management systems for the attainment of objectives of specific projects and the company
Requirements• CPA/ACCA with at least a degree in a relevant discipline preferably augmented with an MBA
• At least [ten(10)] years of financial management with P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility in a commercial environment
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship skills
• Strong financial management and profit maximisation skills
• Strong operational experience, with a sound grounding in the financial considerations of manufacturing and processing entities.
• Strong knowledge of financial compliance and governance requirements
• Proven analytical skills
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure
• Experience in dealing with cost management and optimization.
• An appreciation of commercial negotiations
• Experience with initiating and leading improvement programs, developing and implementing strategic plans and overseeing change
• Experience with project management, procurement, overseeing advisors and contractors
• An understanding of private equity fund investor issues
• Strong treasury and cash management background
