This is a permanent role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting, conducting FLRA’s and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
Ensure that all active ore drives are sampled and mapped with all relevant data captured and recorded on standard sampling/ mapping sheets and sample sheets have assays attached.
Sample and map all Alimak raises according to schedule.
Surveyed headings have mapping plotted correctly and clearly with dips, strikes and annotation of structures and litho.
All mined headings have composite maps updated within 5 cuts.
All samples dispatched QAQC’ed with standard, blanks and or duplicates.
All active headings are mapped and tracked on a tracking sheet.
Ensure that all waste headings are mapped and that developed metres vs mapped target is achieved on a weekly basis.
All updated maps are scanned , e-filed and major structures digitised and projected.
Ensure that daily geology and waste development reports are completed accurately with all collected data.
Sampling Data is entered correctly and on time into the AcQuire database.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree / Diploma in Geology or an equivalent
Experience Requirements:
At least 2 years geology experience in mining and exploration
1 year underground mining experience
Experience with narrow vein gold
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge in various sampling methods
Mapping and plotting of geological information in both plan and section
Knowledge of grade control practices
Good communication skills – both written and verbal
Good computer skills, MS Office, Datamine and Acquire Database software
