The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, non-denominational, international development agency promoting creative and effective solutions to selected problems that impede social and economic development in parts of Africa and Asia. AKFTanzania is part of the AKF-East Africa regional structure that supports programmes in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. In Tanzania, AKF is managing a robust and expanding portfolio of multi-sectorial initiatives that includes programmes in rural economic development, education, health, nutrition, early childhood development and civil society strengthening.

AKF has a strong team of over 100 members located at Dar-es-salaam, Mtwara, Lindi, Arusha, Mwanza and Zanzibar.

The Coastal Rural Support Programme Tanzania, CRSP (T) is a multi-input area development initiative of AKF in Lindi and Mtwara regions. The programme’s overall goal is to improve the quality of life and social wellbeing of people in the two regions through sustainable interventions in agriculture and market development, access to finance, health, and education. CRSPT is a large programme with multiple grants being implemented in various sectors of its operations.

AKF is looking for a dynamic and skilled professional who can take on the role of Human Resources Assistant for the Coastal Rural Support Program Tanzania.

Position Summary
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources assistant will assists with the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties in Lindi and Mtwara.

Major roles and responsibilities
 Maintain all staff files
 Enter staff leave records in the system
 Keep all jubilee insurance records in staff files
 Keeping records for Employee orientation, development and training logistics
 Produce copies for all HR-department documents to be sent in Dar es salaam and give feedback to HR-Officer
 Enters, Updates employee information such as change in contacts, Allocation, increase of dependents etc
 Inform job applicants of their acceptance or rejection for employment
 Perform all other duties as directed by supervisor
 Human Resources Manager or Program Director shall assign any other duties that are not specifically stated above but will necessarily come within the framework of your operation to you from time to time.

Qualifications required.
 A diploma/Advanced diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent professional qualification;
 A minimum of 2 years’ experience preferably with a development agency or a non-government organization;
 Proven experience in file management, leave management, and record keeping;
 Familiarity with an expertise in HRIMS would be an advantage
 Computer literate with ability to command excel
 Excellent spoken and written English.
