Position: Tanzania TCI Project Lead - 1 position based Dar es Salaam

Position Overview:
Reporting to the EA Hub Project Director, the TCI Project Lead will be responsible for: 
  • overseeing the implementation of the Initiative's technical and programmatic activities to ensure sustainable adoption of family Planning [FP] innovations, and scale-up in the selected geographies [counties, districts or cities] in Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Program Management for effective functioning of the East Africa Accelerator Hub activities in Tanzania.
• Represent the East Africa Accelerator. Hub at national and regional for and technical meetings, facilitating dissemination and use of project data among key stakeholders
• Responsible for Leadership in ensuring successful implementation of Tanzania annual work plans and achievement of the project's objectives and goals while maintaining technical
integrity 1
• Accountable for overall progress against all key result areas, milestone~ and program objectives.
• Provide· leadership in the relationship management, Strengthen partnerships with collaborating organizations, including Advance Family Planning, Performance Monitoring and Accountability [PMA] 2020and other relevant organizations
• Conduct advocacy and marketing activities for a demand-driven approach for expansion of urban FP innovations in both the _government and private sectors in Tanzania in collaboration with AFP Tanzania an~ other stakeholders.'
• Support the development of and provide technical reviews and strategic inputs into the design, \Jevelopment and adaptation of key
TCI components including the FP Tool Kit, TCI University, TCI Community of Practice, training curricula and best practices and other program materials.
• Support the East Africa AcceleratorHub in identifying potential cities/districts based on TCl's eligibility criteria to participate in The Challenge Initiative
• Provide technicaf and programmaiic g~da~ce aimed at successful and sustainable adoption of family planning innovations across counties and districts in multiple countries in East Africa.
• Provide technical and programmatic guidance to cities/districts Tanzania to develop viable RH/FP proposals that address thespecific needs and priorities of the cities/districts focusing on
sustainable approaches which can be funded with TCl's program delivery funds
• Provide mentorship and coaching to District Health teams on family planning innovations and best practices, scale up and institutionalization
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly reports and project updates.

Required Qualifications
• The position requires a Master's degree and/or equivalent experience of at least 8 years in an expanding family planning, international health, strategic communication, advocacy, program
design, and program leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in working with international donors and foundations - success in grants management is a plus.
• Experience building capacity at individual and organizational levels; including working with Ministries of Health and district staff and systems, particularly in area of family planning - experience working in the East Africa region is a plus.
• Ability to travel as required supporting the progress of program activities.
• Excellent verbal, written communications and presentation skills.
• Applicant should have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills.
• Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Office.
