The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture invites applications for nationally recruited positions of SENIOR FINANCE
The IITA IS A MEMEBER OF WORLD – WIDE NETWORK OF International Agriculture Research Centre IITA research focus on smallholder cropping system in Sub-Sahara Africa. IITA has a regional in Dar se Salaam Tanzania which coordinate the work of the institute in East Africa
TERMS OF REFERENCE
· Serve as IITA station finance officer there by taking responsibility for the under listed tasks
- Assist in preparations of the stations capital and operating budget
- Review monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and cash
- Review proceed claims for payment
- Review payment of procurement invoices for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor outstanding travel/cash advances
- Ensure all cash and cheques under custody banked in accordance with the institute accounting policies and guidelines’
- Maintain necessary accounting record
· Identify training needs and organize in –house training of accounting personnel and other staff on accounting controls and procedure budget monitoring etc
· Coordinate audit activities and other assurance and monitoring providers across all EA HUB Stations
· Review monthly reconciliations of bank accounts in all IITA EA stations
· Any other finance related duties assigned by supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- minimum 5 years post qualifications experience
- S/HE must have recognized professional accounting qualifications CCA, CPA, ICA etc
- A PREVIOUS EXPERINCE WITH OF THE BIG 4 AUDIT FIRMS WILL BE AN ADVANTAGE

The initial contract for the position of for 2 years renewable subject to performance and availability funds this is a nationally recruited position and IITA offers competitive remuneration package
