The Corporate Services has responsibility for a wide range of services in the Commonwealth Secretariat comprising finance and management information; procurement; IT; conference and event management, resource mobilisation and technical assistance.
The successful candidate will have a Degree and will be MCIPS qualified. You must have an extensive and impressive work record in procurement processes and best-practice; at least five years’ background in strategic procurement; and experience of leading, motivating and developing a professional team to establish a new, pro-active and dynamic procurement team.
You will develop and implement a procurement strategy that delivers targeted benefits and financial savings; ensures VFM, efficiencies and compliance right across the organisation; and continuously develops your team.
This will involve working closely with colleagues in finance to implement new systems; developing services which protect our commercial interests and comply with local and national legislations; providing support and advice while working flexibly across our divisions and units; promoting a positive image both internally and externally; shaping, guiding and implementing changes; ensuring annual forward-planning is executed; and preparing regular and ad-hoc reports which facilitate rapid decision-making.
Your experience should include working with a fragmented user-base; leading change-initiatives including the implementation and development of electronic procurement systems and processes; and winning stakeholder buy-in.
