Wakulima Tea Company Ltd; the Largest Smallholder Tea Company in Tanzania; supporting over 13000 farmers and with 2 factories in Rungwe District have a vacancy for a qualified IT System Administrator who will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality, The IT System Administrator must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems, in particular Windows. Candidates with experience of Pay Whizz, Getset and Easy weigh will be preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
i. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
ii, Check computer hardware (HOD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
ii. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
iii. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
iv. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
v. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
vi. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance ” ,- .
vii. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
viii. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
ix. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and advise on procurement
x. Liaise with third party software providers
xi. Advise management on improvement of the existing IT network.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A Degree in Computer Science, ICT or relevant field
• Proven experience in IT and systems administration
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Excellent technical communication skills
• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• At least 3 years experience in the same field.
