Job Responsibilities:
- Fully in charge of the engineering department to ensure that all engineering functional areas work properly.
- Highly focus on implementing Good Engineering Practices.
- Responsible for an effective energy management.
- Maintains all equipment, refrigeration/air-conditioning units, desalination water system. including sewerage system/plumbing works, electrical and mechanical system and Generators.
- Ensures implementation, execution and achievement of the resort’s preventative maintenance goals.
- Ensures compliance with all engineering departmental policies, fire safety standards and procedures.
- Maintains budget and controls expenses within the areas of the department.
- Ensures all term contractors’ works meet the scope, terms and conditions as specified and agreed in maintenance works contracts.
- In charge for planning the materials required for maintenance in coordination with purchasing department.
- Seeks out cost reduction methods, which do not negatively impact guests’ perception of the resort.
- Ensures all staff are properly trained and have the tools needed to complete specific projects.
- Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
Job Requirements:
- 8-10 years relevant experience in similar role
- Possesses diploma in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fully computer literate

Head of Sales & Marketing
THE RESIDENCE ZANZIBAR Zanzibar
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains the records of existing sales accounts base, whilst developing and qualifying new accounts, establishment and maintenance of revenue.
- Responsible for the overall sales activities.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales.
- Develops the Sales Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work closely with Reservation & Revenue Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial need.
- Responsible for the contracting process for all international contracts and ensure all sales contracts.
- Establish the smooth working relationship between the resort and all wholesales agents.
- Establish good working relationship with all local and international travel agents and corporate accounts.
- Plans sales trips to cover all established and potential markets and attend travel industry trade shows as and when required.
- Produce monthly Sales reports in detail of all sales activities and results.
Work Experience:
- Proven career track record in the Luxury Hotel Industry.
- At least three years international experience in luxury hospitality in a sales senior role.
- Experience working in island locations
Additional Skills:
- Excellent command over written and spoken English
- Other European languages would be very beneficial.
Personal Attributes/Personality:
- Capable of adapting to local conditions in remote location
- Previous successful expatriation is a must.
- Excellent Communicator.
- Strong organizational and managerial skills.
