Title: IT Operations Infrastructure & Acquisition Specialist
Reporting to: Chief Change Manager
Job summary:
Responsible to oversee the IT unit, ensuring operations are aligned to the digital vision of the company, by building frames that will improve efficiencies within IT environment, support building and deployment of new functionalities. The specialist will also be fully responsible to develop and practice IT policies that will guide the company through out, without withstanding providing leadership on IT unit to ensure day to day activities are met.
Operational Management
- Provide detailed IT Reports to management and focus on areas of improvement
- Be a liaison with Group IT for all IT related matters including deployment and enhancements
- Provide leadership in IT unit, performance manage all direct reports
- And any other duty assigned by Line manger
Knowledge and skills
- Adequate experience in delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence ,Hands on experience to trouble shoot hardware
- Strong Hands on technical knowledge of current network hardware protocols , and internet standards, including VOIP, TCP/IP , H.232 SIP, and SCCP
- Broad understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems , data encryption and other security techniques
- Proven track record to interact with senior management in project management
Education
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
- Information Security, or related academic field.
Experience
- At least four years of relevant work experience
Key responsibilities
- Strategy and Planning
- Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements
- Develop and maintain policies, process and procedures within the unit
- Define, establish and maintain SLA within business units
- Understand & Plan and Provide road maps ahead of network outages, system failures within the organization
Acquisition and Deployment
- Assist with planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
- Design and deploy company LANs, Wans and wireless networks, including routers, switches, VOIP gateways and other hardware
- Recommend, schedule and perform security improvements, upgrades, and /or purchases
- Interact and negotiate with Vendors, outsources, and contractors to secure network products and services
Operational Management
- Test network & systems performance and provide performance statistics and reports
- Manage trackers of IT raised issues within the company (improve TAT of resolving)
- Design, monitor and perform penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities and improve
