Position: Plant Automation Technician
Reporting to: Plant Automation Supervisor
Location: Tanga
Key responsibility
Perform skilled instrumentation/plant automation activities by providing technical service to optimize cost, equipment availability and customer Ensuring safe working practices towards zero harm. Utilize own and team efforts to achieve the objectives of the operation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure plant control systems, instruments devices, signal transmission and communication are working properly and effectively
- Resolve plant instruments & automation problems using proper operating procedures (Fault finding diagnosis)
- Ensure all documentation is in a neat and tidy state
- Ensure that substations, gas analyzer rooms, weighing feeders’ rooms and remote IO signal panels are neat and operational
- Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility
- Environment: Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify, and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instill environmental awareness culture in his/her area
- Any other duties as may be assigned
Education
FTC/Diploma in Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering
Knowledge and Specific Experience
- Minimum 2 years instrumentation maintenance experience in cement or equivalent industry
- Must have extensive experience in PLC, instruments, and computer knowledge
- Understanding of operation maintenance and production, Knowledge of health, safety and environmental risks identification and statutory requirements and management, Sound computer and MS Office skills, ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, and specifications, Good on fault finding, Able to plan own activities , Able to think himself in problem solving, Fairy independent, able to take and follow instructions, hood understanding of preventive maintenance requirement, Honest and trustworthy
