About Feed the Children Tanzania

Together, we help kids be kids by providing healthy food, safe water, education, and job training so that kids and their families in all areas where we work become independent.
Purpose: Ensure improved Health & Water (H&W) condition of children and vulnerable groups in the selected communities and schools.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Provide technical support during implementation, monitoring and evaluation and ensure program excellence in implementation of WASH projects.
· Coordinate training to communities in water, sanitation & hygiene operation and management.
· Provide and participate in development of fundraising strategies for WASH projects
· Provide technical review to tender documents for water and sanitation construction projects and participate in preparing water contracts.
· Coordinate WASH collaboration & networks with the Ministry of Water, Public Health & other relevant partners/agencies
· Development of proposal/ concept papers
· Prepare monitoring reports of water and sanitation projects
· Establishing / fostering relevant partnerships with NGO’s
· Plus any other official duties as may be allocated.
· Degree in Environmental Health or Water Engineering
· At least one (1) year working experience in community based Water Sanitation and Hygiene interventions.
· Good assessment, analytical, problem-solving and writing skills.
· Good working experience in Community participation in development.
· Experience in training using participatory adult learning methodologies.
· Experience in hygiene promotion training methodologies
· Experience in grant management and proposal writing is preferred
· Self-reliance and an ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment
· Experience in rural/community water supply systems and technology desirable
· Strong project management skills and ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting problems and possible solutions for particular WASH situations.
· Familiarity with current standards and guidelines for humanitarian emergency response, including the Sphere Handbook criteria.
· Good experience and knowledge of Child Protection policies.
· Excellent spoken and written English and Kiswahili
