Job Description

To ensure availability of medicines and quality of services provided at a Dawaplus Pharmacy Wholesaler.
The Pharmacist is responsible for:

• Overseeing wholesale business operations
• Preparing/placing/receiving orders
• Overseeing and participating in dispensing activities
• Inventory management
• Record Management
• Ensuring adherence to customer service protocols
• Quality Assurance and Control
• Participation in Organizational Knowledge & Training Activities
• Liaising/Working with HQ

> KRA 1: Overseeing Wholesaler Business Operations:
• Reviews and implements Dawaplus operational protocols and follows-up on effective utilization of procedures
• Documents non-conformity to protocols and reports this to Dawaplus HQ with suggestions for improvement
• Organizes and directs work flow (creates lines of collaboration with staff for efficient coordination and better service to the customers)
• Implements marketing/health promotion activities in accordance with Dawaplus HQ guidance/guidelines
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related targets and results as needed
• Creates an enabling work environment and maintains a good working relationship with the Dawaplus HQ, suppliers, and staff
• Conducts bi-annual performance reviews for pharmacy staff in conjunction with Dawaplus HQ

> KRA 2: Preparing/Placing/Receiving Orders to/from Dawaplus Supplier:
• Works with Dawaplus HQ to prepare forecasts of items and quantity needed
• Places timely, regular order with supplier as per Dawaplus HQ protocol
• Creates a purchase order as per requested specification
• Communicates with the supplier to ensure they have received the order and have verified it and confirmed that they will supply the goods accordingly
• Ensures payment is carried out
• Submits the payment proof to the supplier
• Receives shipment dates and ETA from supplier
• Coordinates and ensures timely pick-up of goods from delivery drop-off location
• Inspects items to ensure they have been received in good condition (e.g., packaging intact and not expired)
• Receives the delivery note once goods have been delivered
• Ensures that Purchase Order, Delivery Note, and Physical goods arriving (brand, strength, quantity, etc.) all match up

> KRA 3: Dispensing:
• Oversees and ensures good preparation and dispensing practice in accordance with TFDA and Pharmacy Council regulations and guidelines as well as Dawaplus HQ protocols

> KRA 4: Inventory Management:
• Ensures all products are stored under suitable conditions, taking into consideration the stability of the drug, etc.
• Performs routine stock counts as per Dawaplus operational protocols and accounts and reports for any discrepancies
• Ensures zero stock-outs and expiry

> KRA 5: Record Management:
• Ensures accuracy in data entry of the following records:
• Invoices and receipts
• Drug ledgers
• Register of expired drugs
• Complaints handling book with respect to drug reactions information obtained from patients
• Correspondences in relation to drugs
• Inspections records and reports
• And any other records as deemed necessary by Dawaplus HQ
• Ensures proper storage and maintenance of all records in accordance with Dawaplus HQ protocols
• Provides reports on-time to HQ

> KRA 6: Customer Service:
• Ensures that all employees adhere to Dawaplus customer service protocols
• Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals, counseling patients on drug therapies, etc.
• Maintains database of wholesale customers

> KRA 7: Quality Assurance and Control:
• Complies with TFDA, Pharmacy council and Dawaplus guidelines, protocols, and procedures (e.g, maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions)
• Maintains safe and clean working environment
• Ensures proper waste management according to TFDA and Dawaplus protocols
• Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols

> KRA 8: Training & Knowledge management activities:
• Keeps up to date with developments regarding new products and policies for health and are aware of local and major national and topical health promotion initiatives
• Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; etc.

> KRA 9: Working/Liaising with HQ:
• Provide inputs related to operational protocols, quality improvement efforts, product-mix, marketing strategies, and other key function areas as needed
Position Requirements
> Academic & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy

> Relevant working experience:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
