Summary of Position 
Since 2011, SFCG in Tanzania is working to develop Sustainable Business Practice (SBP) in the extractive industry sector. SFCG is currently seeking to recruit a Community Outreach Assistant to assist with the day-to-day implementation, training as well as monitoring and evaluation of community outreach activities in Shinyanga region. S/he will assist the Field Coordinator with the implementation and monitoring of project activities, and support the collection of monitoring data. Based in Shinyanga region, the Community Outreach Assistant will report to the SBP Program Manager. 

Responsibilities 
 Together with the Field Coordinator, help plan for activities on a monthly and weekly basis. 
 Assist the Field Coordinator with the implementation of the project’s training component, including by organizing and facilitating trainings. 
 Implement the project’s community outreach activities, mobilizing and engaging key community stakeholders with a view to support their development. 
 Support the administrative and logistical arrangements for the implementation of project activities. 
 Prepare detailed activity and monthly reports including analysis and insights of the specific activities implemented, for submission and review by the Field Coordinator. These reports should highlight key results achieved as well as challenges encountered. 
 Communicate with the Field Coordinator on a daily basis, to ensure smooth communication about progresses but also challenges encountered towards the implementation of specific project activities. 
 Conduct quarterly field visits to collect monitoring data, including success stories, as included in the M&E plan. 
 Assist in the development of effective tools to monitor the results of community outreach and training activities. Ensure the use of monitoring tools, analysis of the monitoring data and their inclusion in activity and monthly reports. 
 Assist the Field Coordinator and SBP Program Manager with other tasks as needed. 

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties. 

Qualifications 
 Bachelor’s degree in international development, conflict resolution, project management or related field. 
 At least two (2) years of INGO or CSO experience in project implementation and/or design, monitoring and evaluation in Tanzania. 
 Previous training experience. 
 Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders. 
 Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision. 
 Cultural sensitivity and strong interest in dialogue, peacebuilding and conflict transformation. 
 Written and oral proficiency in English and Swahili. 
 Willingness to be based in one of District in Shinyanga region and travel to remote areas. 


Duration: 12 month contract with possibility of renewal
