The Organization
Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is an international non-profit organization that promotes peaceful resolution of conflict. With headquarters in Washington, DC and Brussels, Belgium, our mission is to transform how individuals, organizations, and governments deal with conflict – away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. We seek to help conflicting parties understand their differences and act on their commonalities. With a total of approximately 750 staff worldwide, we implement projects from 55 offices in 34 countries, including in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Within Sub-Saharan Africa, SFCG works in 18 countries: Burundi, Chad, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Responsibilities
1) To maintain a book record of all staffs and visitors entering and leaving the SFCG Shinyanga field office;
2) To ensure the cleanliness of all areas of the field office as instructed by the Finance, Administration and Compliance Assistant
3) To prepare or organize refreshments as appropriate for meetings held in the office;
4) To prepare for and clear up after meetings in the office;
5) Conduct a weekly stock taking to ensure adequate stocks of cleaning materials, hygiene supplies and kitchen items such as tea / coffee etc, liaising with the Field Accountant to ensure orders are placed on time;
6) To help prepare, set up and dismantle furniture for staff training as required;
7) To support the programs and finances with preparing and copying documents, and help with any other administrative tasks as needed;
8) To ensure that the SFCG field office is opened every morning, and locked every evening.
9) To observe and comply with Health and Safety procedures of SFCG and any relevant laws of Tanzania;
10) Any other tasks as required by the Finance, Administration and Compliance Assistant
11) including but not limited to, emptying any dustbin whenever it is full, ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen by doing dishes, keeping a clean fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave and office floors;

Qualifications
 References from at least 3 previous employers.
 Dynamic, motivated and flexible with cultural sensitivity
 Ability to Read and write

Duration: 12 month contract with possibility of renewal
