This is a permanent role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Implement the standards for the Technical Services Department for the planning of mine infrastructure (Mine Water, Dewatering, Mine Air, Power, Refuge Chambers and Second Means of Egress) and be accountable for the standards being met for all outputs.
Be involved in the budget preparation activities within the Technical Services Team and be accountable for the timely delivery of the outputs required.
Prepare detailed execution plans for all mining infrastructure projects and be accountable for the efficient and effective application of the plans to ensure the timely completion of project works.
Be accountable for management of project costs, including engagement of contractors, management of contracts and contractors, accruals and clearance of claims and invoices for payment.
Be accountable for the final sign off on Infrastructure Project Works upon completion and handover to operations.
Liaise with the Long and Short Term Planning Engineers to identify issues with the LOM, 0+12 Plan and Monthly Plans with relation to infrastructure project works.
Prepare and issue designs and specifications for infrastructure capital projects as required.
Prepare reports regarding Mine Infrastructure work as required.
Work closely with the Capital Projects Department representatives on the large capital projects underground.
Increase the number of hazards/near miss reports
Ensure spatial compliance.
Reduce contractors delays due to lack of mine water / power / mine air / flooded areas or any other mine infrastructure issues.
Ensure compliance with the Field Instructions Process (issuing, registering and filling).
Participate in identifying business improvement opportunities within your work area.
Ensure that weekly/ monthly project reports are always on time, very accurate and contain appropriate content.
Provide cover and support for the Ventilation and Pastefill/ Backfill teams when personnel are out on break
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering
Experience Requirements:
4 years in Mining, including at least 2 years in Underground Mining
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
Computer Skills – MS Office, Deswik, Datamine
Time management, scheduling and planning
Analysis and interpretation of data, troubleshooting
Mine design
