SAFETY OFFICER - RADAR RECRUITMENT

Main Responsibilities    
The Safety officer will ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety OSH Guidelines, and to supervise business operations in regards to health and safety. To establish and facilitate training programs, communication requirements and standards in health and safety as required by Tanzanian law.

The Safety Officer's main responsibilities includes the following:
Supporting development of OHS policies and programs
Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with relevant Tanzanian regulations, laws, and company policies.
Ensure company complies with all training and reporting requirements for all statutory obligations relating to health, safety and welfare at work
Completion of regular risk assessment review for all operations and equipmentEnsure all accidents and near-accidents are documented, investigated and followed up to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure safety inspections are carried out, fire drills, fire alarms are installed, emergency procedures are in place and understood by all staff members.
Keeping up to date with all aspects of relevant health safety and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
Maintain records relating to company health and safety requirements and compliance, training programs and official safety checks and assessments.

Qualifications Requirements
    
Degree or higher in Environment, Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
In-depth knowledge of OHS legislation within Tanzania
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
Excellent planning and organization skills, and great attention to detail.

IT Skills    
Experience    
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Health and Safety within Tanzania
