Manager

Responsibilities
The Operations Directorate is seeking a high-performing individual to serve as the Chief, Behavior Analysis.
Managers generally either (1) lead organizations at the office or division level (for large divisions), typically with subordinate division-level managers or first-line supervisors assigned to them, and/or (2) manage and direct the functions and responsibilities of a staff element (typically either at the Division level or under the general supervision of a Chief of Staff). Managers assure the effective and efficient implementation of Agency policies and directives by directing and coordinating diverse work programs through their subordinate division-level managers, first-line supervisors, and/or staff elements. They determine organizational structure; assign work both across organizational elements and to employees with diverse work roles; and manage an organization's or unit's personnel processes, including promotions, awards, staffing, hiring, resource management, performance management, etc. Managers are responsible for leveraging the diversity of their work force to create innovative solutions that support the Agency's mission. They contribute to the Agency Strategic Plan based on their understanding of the mission they lead and may advise their senior management or leadership on organizational matters, offer recommendations, and provide liaison as required for the organization. At NSA, Managers do not receive recognition or special pay for technical work.
Skills

- Provide performance feedback and counseling to subordinates.
- Assign tasks or projects to others.
- Create work teams with appropriate employees to accomplish work goals.
- Establish performance expectations, goals, objectives, or milestones for individuals, teams, or projects.
- Motivate and encourage others to accomplish work assignments and goals.
- Participate in Agency and organizational personnel decisions for promotion, awards, positions, or training.
- Provide recognition and rewards to subordinates.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions (for example, promotions, awards, disciplinary actions).
- Supervise the activities of subordinates.
Qualifications/Experience
Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 5 years of relevant experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 13 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 11 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Degree in any field acceptable.
Relevant experience must be formal supervisory experience and specialized experience in a subject matter related to the position in which the candidate is applying. In addition, may also include informal supervisory experience (e.g., team lead). At least 5 years of formal management experience and experience within the IC/DoD is preferred. The Director's Leadership Program is strongly preferred.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary Range: $131,167 - $161,900

Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
TRAINING: management strongly supports continuing education and career development.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
