LEAD NURSE/MIDIWIFERY TECHNICAL ADVISOR
Improving acess to Materbal and newborn health is 4 year project funded by global affairs Canada and Aga KHan Foundation. Canada. the purpose of the IMPACT project is to accelerate the redution of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity by improving the availaility and ultilization of quality MNH services and health seeking behaviours in 8 district of Mwanza Region, Tanzania. Aga Khan School of Nursing and Midiwifery is a partner in this project with the remit to develop comprehesive needs led training programme of nurse and midiwives in the selected health facilities. in aditiona AKU SONAM has the remit to develop an adaptive curriculum to upskill 21 midiwivwes from the selected sites from diploma leve to bachelor
As lead nuerse midiwife you will be responsible to coordinate capaacity building programs for nurse and midiwives within the project designated sites and support SONAM academic activities within the IMPACT project you will be required to work closely with the IMPACT project coordinator and respective district authorities. this post will require to be based in Mwanza Tanzania
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- support capacity of over 200 midiwives in designated project sites
- proovide clinical supervisor to about 21 midiwives upgrading from diploma to degree
- participate in monitoring and evaluation of project performance
- ensure smooth emplementation of the project within the allocated budgets and plans
- identfy potential and actual challenges and escalete appropriately
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- masters midiwifery or relevant health related academic qualifications
- registerd with the nursing and midiwifery councl Tanzania
- up to date lisence to practice in Tanzania
- certificate in project management will be an added advantage
- a minimum of 5 years working as a midiwife in clinical or educational institutions
- recognized trainer (TOT) in reproductive maternal, new born child and adolescent health (RMNCHA)
- Eperience in research
- experience n project planning, monitoring and evaluation
